Scientific Chairs

The Vision:

Scientific research is a means to advance to the knowledge society, solve its issues and stimulate development efforts in various fieldsAreas.

The message:

Building and developing specialized scientific and applied scientific and applied programs and applications, which contribute to the solutions of the sustainable development issues, through an effective partnership between the University and various sectors of societySaudi Arabia.

Objectives:

1. Building a high-quality scientific research system that contributes to the university's international standing in the light of trends in global development.

2. To carry out integrated theoretical and applied studies, and to transfer and adapt modern technology which will contribute to the resolution of community issues and to support sustainable development efforts.

3. Attracting outstanding scientific competencies and benefiting from available academic competencies to support scientific research programs.

4. Supporting the scientific research infrastructure of the university in accordance with its strategic objectives.

5. Building an effective partnership between the university and the society sectors, supporting communication channels between them, to promote constructive cooperation and stimulate efforts towards greater welfare of society Saudi Arabia.

6. Encouraging researchers to enrich the Saudi society with knowledge and modern science, and benefit from its practical applications in solving the problems of Saudi society.

Tasks and responsibilities of the Scientific Chairs committee:

1. Approving the plans and general policies for programs of scientific chairs.

2. Recommending the establishment of research chairs at the university.

3. Adoption of the regulations governing the functioning of scientific chairs.

4. Approval of performance reports for scientific chairs.

5. Recommending the suspension or continuation of the research chair.

6. Approval of naming or modifying the names of research chairs.

7.Recommending the acceptance of grants, wills, and donations research chairs.

8. Recommend the approval of the appointment of chairs.

9. Approval of strategic and operational plans for research chairs.

11.Approval of the appointment of the members of the Advisory Board of the Research Chairs Fund.

12. Supervising the work of the Research Chairs Fund.

13. Approval of Investments Research Chairs Fund.

14.Recommending the approval of the regulations and rules regulating the administrative and financial aspects of the research chairs and submitting them to the University Council.

15. Recommend the approval of the regulations and rules governing self-evaluation and academic accreditation internal and external chairs.

16. Discussing and approving the budget and annual reports of the research chairs and submitting them to the University Council.

17. To form permanent and temporary committees from among its members to study the tasks assigned to them by the Council or to prepare them, and may seek the assistance of some of those deemed appropriate in this regard.

18. Suggest amendments to the regulations governing scientific chairs and submit them to the University Council for approval.

19. Accreditation of contracts of consultants and researchers visiting scientific chairs.

20. Studying what is referred issues by the Rector related to chairs of scientific research.

Chair of Research and Development Studies of the Taif Rose

Date of establishment of the chair:

3/1 / 1434H corresponding to 17/11/2012

Objective of the chair:

Extraction of oils from sectarian flowers, application of modern methods in liquids,  microwave and ultrasonic extraction. These include research on rose products, conducting scientific workshops and seminars, conducting research in extracting oils in larger quantities and longer in flower production, conducting researches to protect roses from diseases (Microbial, parasitic and insecticides).

Objective of the chair:

To provide studies and researches necessary to meet the changes that have occurred in the Saudi society resulting from the development of communications and information systems to speed the spread of ideas and their impact and helps to mitigate the harmful effects and develop the positive aspects and the development of many systems governing the activities of society from public order to health, education and security systems, Creating community awareness of the importance of adhering to the system, recognizing the importance of the prevailing systems in the society and their interrelationships, and contributing to the formulation of a general strategy at the level of the Kingdom aimed at supporting and strengthening the commitment to the ruling system of various activities of society to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
