The research of the Department of Physiology is focused on research activities aimed at solving the health problems related to the Saudi society as a whole, and split into five broad areas of study, including: cardiac science; neuroscience; development and reproduction; metabolism and cell signaling.
The research work of the department is necessarily interdisciplinary and comprehensive, which means that researchers often work on more than one subject, which requires cooperation with various hospitals and medical centers in the western region of Saudi Arabia, as well as with their colleagues in the physical sciences, life sciences and clinical sections in Taif University.
