Taif University Organizes the Virtual Forum of the University Elective Requirements

H.E. The President of Taif University Prof. Dr. Yusuf Asiri inaugurated on Wednesday 10/4/1442 the virtual forum of the general elective requirements at the Deanship of Supportive Studies (DSS). The event began at 9.00 am and lasted to 1.00 pm via Maharaht Platform. H.E pointed to the importance of Taif University Graduates’ Attributes project (TUGA ) and the significance of its objectives in enhancing the quality of the learning outcomes in line with the labor market and the Kingdom Vision. Besides, building students’ character and knowledge so that Taif University graduates are equipped with academic, life and future career skills.

H.E the Dean of the Deanship of Supportive Studies Dr. Mansour Almaliki stressed that the project aims to promote the academic content through integrating the  21st century skills with the university courses and presenting them through an educational milieu that encourages excellence and creativity, and meets the community needs, thus; contributing to excellence in different disciplines.

H.E the Vice Dean Dr. Ghazi Algethami pointed out that the event aims to highlight the distinctive projects at the General Requirements Center at DSS, which contribute to building student's character, knowledge and skills.

Dr. Faris Almaliki, Director of the General Requirements Center, stated that 49 distinctive projects participated in the virtual forum; representing 9 general elective courses, including: Chinese, French, volunteering and community responsibility, health education, digital citizenship, media and community, innovation and entrepreneurship, and programming for non-specialists. The participants briefed the attendees on their projects reflecting the distinction of the presented projects, which align with the outcomes of the courses involved and enhance students’ knowledge and skills.

The forum was concluded with honoring the top three projects in each course, the general courses’ coordinators, and the staff of the Center in male and female’ sections.  H.E the Director of the Center expressed his appreciation to the President of the University for his patronage of the forum. He also expressed his appreciation to the Dean and staff of DSS for their support and follow-up.
