Department of Preventive Dentistry

The Department of preventive dental science teaches the most important pillars of dentistry ( prevention ). The department has three main units: orthodontics, pediatric dentistry and Dental public health. The department focuses on enhancing the oral and dental health of patients who receive treatment in college clinics and the community in general. It also prepare students to provide comprehensive patient care by teaching a set of courses based on the latest scientific developments in this field in cooperation with other departments. In addition, the members of the department provide treatment services for advanced cases with the highest quality standards

Department Units :

Orthodontics Unit

The unit teach our students the basics of orthodontics, how to diagnose problems of malocclusion, and facial and jaw defects. Students have the opportionity to provide treatment for some cases according to the college competency required

Pediatric Dentistry Unit

This unit is provide teaching on diffrent pediatric topics including; the natural growth of children's teeth, oral tissues and related diseases, and also train the student on preventive and therapeutic techniques for diseases Inherited and acquired in children

Dental Public Health Unit

The aim of the Dental Health unit is to qualify the student for the requirements of the community and the social and cultural environment in regard to dentistry
