date of publication : 2019-04-11King Khalid University hosted the conference titled"Research and Development Initiatives and their Impact on Raising the Quality, Efficiency and Effectiveness of Scientific Research in Saudi Universities and their Contribution to Economic Development" under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz, Governor of Asir Region. The conference was an extension of the International Collaboration Conference on research and development organized by the Ministry of Education in Riyadh from 23-23 April 2018. After the opening of the conference by HE the President of King Khalid University, the current situation of research and development in Saudi universities and the opportunities and challenges in universities in this field were discussed. The Deanship of Scientific Research atTaif University was represented by the Vice Dean Dr.WalaaAlsanie. The conference was actively attended by the Ministry of Education's Research and Development Office, represented by His Excellency Dr. Hisham Alhudlaq, several local and international research institutions and leading companies such as Aramco and SABIC.
