International collaboration agreement between Taif University and the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC)

As part of international collaboration agreement between Taif University and the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), six of the faculty members of the College of Medicine have undertaken a four weeks fellowship program at the Graham Clinical Performance Center (GCPC) of the College of Medicine – UIC, during the period July 16 – August 10, 2018. The fellowship program focuses on teaching and testing with standardized patients (SP’s). The SP Fellowship Program at the GCPC provides the theoretical knowledge and practical skills faculty need in order to design and implement standardized patient (SP) based instruction and assessment programs in health professions education settings.

Previously, three faculty members of the college have been awarded the same fellowship through the TU – UIC collaboration agreement. In addition to the six faculty members they will form the nucleus of the establishment and operation of the Clinical Performance Center at Taif University. They will be responsible for the setup of the center, training of other faculty, technicians, students and standardized patients and setting the operational procedures of the center including clinical teaching and examinations using other stimulation systems.
