Short Story Writing Techniques
Date : 2024-02-14 Time : 10:00:00Under the patronage of the Dean of the University College in Al-Khurmah, His Excellency Professor Dr. Ali bin Mutheeb Al-Subaie, the University College in Al-Khurmah held an event on, Tuesday, 8/3/1445 AH, entitled (Short Story Writing Techniques); On the occasion of International Short Story Day, the event was presented by His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Faris Saud Al-Quthami, and His Excellency Dr. Mujahid Ali Ahmed, His Excellency the Dean of the College was at the forefront of the audience, he gave a welcoming speech on this occasion, emphasizing the College’s interest in literature and writers, and its encouragement of talented students to write short stories.
A number of heads of academic departments and faculty members also participated in attendance, in addition to the active participation of a significant number of students
The discussion revolved around two axes in the short story: the first: the theoretical aspect, by defining the short story, distinguishing between it and the novel and the short story, while trying to root it in ancient Arabic literature. The second: the practical aspect, which summarized the steps that the storyteller must apply in building a successful short story. This is done by explaining the narrative techniques of the short story in some selected texts by major Saudi writers in this field.
